High Adventure

Philmont

Troop 65 attended Philmont Scout Ranch in 2015 and 2019. Located in the Sangre De Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains in northeast New Mexico, Philmont is The Boy Scouts of America's largest high adventure base stretching over 140,000 acres. Using map and compass the Scouts hiked about 100 miles over the course of 10 days. They participated in various activities at each of the camps that they stopped at during their trek. Some of the activities included black powder shooting, blacksmithing, and horseback riding.
